All Done!!

This morning at breakfast, Little M, looked at my empty plate. With her hands in the air and a big grin on her face, she said "Aw done". All done!! I see a few more words/short phrases on the horizon, and I believe she will be just as talkative as Big M. We have a hard enough time getting in a conversation sometimes, so it's really going to be a challenge with the two of them chattering! It's exciting anyhow---my little one is growing up. Now if we could just keep her from tearing and chewing up her books!

Great Evening Last Night!

Last night Charley and I celebrated a belated Valentine's Day with a couple who lives just a couple of doors down from us. We tried out Lucky's on 15th/Cherry Street for the first time for all of us. The food was good, but Charley and I really enjoyed the conversations with our new friends/neighbors. We finally felt like we had some friends that we could talk, share, laugh, and commiserate with...similar to our friends back in STW. I'm not sure if they'll read this blog, but if and when they do, we hope they know we really enjoyed the evening and look forward to many more.

Happy 4th Birthday Big M!!

I can't believe that 4 years ago my little girl was born! It amazes me that she has grown so much and so fast. Our conversations these days are just so much fun and interesting....I can only imagine how they will be 10 years from now! Can you believe my little girl is now 4?

You can't turn 4 without a fun party, so we celebrated with a Fancy Nancy theme with our family and a couple of Morgan's friends. We invited a great family that just lives 3 doors down from our new home and one neighbor family from our old neighborhood. Feather Boas, crowns, and accessories were a hit as well as the ribbon-pull pinata. I think Big M had a great day as she turned 4 with her family, friends, and of course, Fancy Nancy!

Big M Blowing out the candles on her cake from Merritt's Bakery---her new favorite place!

The cutest little Fancy Nancy we've ever seen!

Waiting to pull the ribbons on the pinata---they just can't wait to get their goodies!

Happy 4th Birthday Love Bug---We Love You!!

She wanted to be Goldilocks

We rolled big M's hair in sponge rollers last night and took a "before" photo. Unfortunately, several of the rollers were on the floor next to her bed this morning and her hair wasn't nearly as curly as we expected---so, we didn't even bother with an "after" photo. She was so excited and all she could say was that she was going to be like Goldilocks---maybe next time we'll get it right!

How do I explain....

Ok, so I have to remind Charley from time to time that there are things that we need to simplify or explain a little differently for our little "toddler" ears. On the way home from Cubbies tonight, Big M asked me why Molly Jackson's skin was turning white. I clarified that she meant Michael Jackson and asked where she'd even heard about him and his skin. Apparently, she and her "Dada" had quite the conversation when I wasn't around. This is definitely not the first time I've had to explain a somewhat odd topic. In fact, I'm still trying to explain why she's not in my eye! I'm not sure why Dada had to use the phrase "when you were a glimmer in your Mama's eye". We've had a good laugh or two about these things, but I wish I wasn't the one having to explain all of the time!
