All I want for Christmas is My ONE Front Tooth!

Big M lost her first tooth last night (12/23). It had been pretty wiggly for the last few days, and she was finally brave enough to let her dad pull it out. A little scary for her at first, but then she realized the Tooth Fairy would be coming and she cheered up right away! We can't believe she's old enough to be losing her baby teeth...seems like she should still be our baby. She was excited this morning to wake up and find that the Tooth Fairy had left her two gold coins. As my friend Rhonda reminded me, Big M is such a lucky girl to receive a visit from the Tooth Fairy and Santa all in the same week!

Little M's Christmas Program

Little M's Christmas Program at her preschool was last Thursday. What a great looking class! And, they did an awesome job! I posted my two favorites of the evening. She was not afraid of the stage at all...it will be fun to look back at these videos someday. I couldn't help myself and laughed and laughed at how cute she and the class were during their portion of the program. Little M was pretty serious during the singing of "He is the King". Luckily, she repeated the adorable Chubby Little Snowman poem at home for us since it was hard to understand during the program with all of the class saying it at once. Such a fun evening and it made us all smile! :) Hope you enjoy too!

Responsibility

So proud of Big M!! She received the Responsibility award at her monthly Kindergarten Rise and Shine program earlier this week. Our GE Model school has high expectations for students behavior, character, and respect for others. Only one boy and one girl from each class are selected to receive the awards each month. Receiving the Responsibility award meant that Big M takes responsibility for her decisions and actions, and that she chooses "to do the right thing since it's the right thing to do". A couple of her good friends also received the same award this month---great kids! Awesome job Big M!!

Bowling on Bedlam

We took advantage of a cold, rainy morning to take M&M bowling. Coincidentally, it was also Bedlam game day for OSU and OU. We all sported our orange and black and luckily took one of the last two lanes available to play...we didn't realize there was a huge bowling tournament going on in BA that day! M&M both had a good time thanks to the bumpers. It was big help for Charley and I too! We had a fun day...started off with bowling and finished with a big win by OSU!!

Thanksgiving Day

It's so hard to believe we just had Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the corner...we spent most of the day in Guthrie with Charley's family and then went on to OKC to see my family. Since we had a pretty nice day to be outside, the girls had a good time gathering up Aunt Mary and Uncle Ken's leaves into a big pile. Of course, they didn't stay in a nice, clean pile for long. The best part was jumping in!

M&M were also able to spend time with their cousins that they hadn't seen since last year.

Here's a photo of our family along with Charley's Mom and his brother Danny's family.

Little M is Three!!

It's hard to believe that this sweet little girl has grown up and just turned 3! She's gone from a little baby...

to our dramatic, wild child! She really admired her Minnie Mouse cake on party day. So glad she liked it!!

She loves her new Barbie bike! Even Barbie will be able to ride along...

It was lots of fun celebrating!

Pumpkin Town and Carving a Pumpkin

We visited Pumpkin Town a few weeks ago so Big M could pick out a pumpkin. Her school did not do a field trip to the pumpkin patch, so we had to get her a "pumpkin patch" experience. The girls had fun at Pumpkin Town, mostly due to the pumpkin launcher, train ride, slides, and great picture taking opportunities. Here are a few photos...you'll notice Little M likes to "pose" in some of her photos.

Let the carving begin...

And, here she is...Big M wanted a pumpkin that looked like one Fancy Nancy had created in one of her books. Our jack o' lantern had big eyelashes and big lipstick lips. So girly, but what can you expect of our sweet girls!

Go Pokes!!

We had a great time visiting Stillwater for the OSU vs. KU game on October 8 this year. OSU scored 70 points to KU's 28---a blow away! It was a great day, although we could have done without the downpour right after half time. M&M loved meeting Bullet, tailgating with Ms. Kathy and Mr. Andy, and seeing the band/cheerleaders. And, saying they liked their painted cheeks is definitely an understatement! Big M's Kindergarten class pet, Marvin the Monkey, joined us for all of the festivities and had quite a lot to write about in his weekend journal. We are all so excited that OSU is having a great football season!

Sunflowers!!

The little sunflower seed grew and grew and grew! If you need an easy, fun gardening project, then we've got one for you! The girls had so much with the tiny seeds that eventually grew into the sunflower plants in our front flower beds. Unbelievably, the sunflowers reached the eaves of the house and the flowers were very large. Once the seeds in the center of the flower had matured, Charley cut the flower off of the plant and roasted the shells/seeds. They tasted just like the ones you would buy at the store and it was so much fun for the girls to see the whole process! And, they were super simple to grow!

Camping at the Zoo

Charley took Big M to the Tulsa zoo for an overnight camping experience a couple of weekends ago. The "Starry Safari" was a lot of fun for her, although we didn't exactly have the best weather for camping! She loved the extra time at the zoo without a lot of other people. No waiting for the carousel or the train. And, you can't beat an ooey, gooey s'more!

I'm not sure how fun it would be getting a morning wake-up from one of these guys!

Fun on the Carousel

First Day of School 2011

The M&M girls both had a great first day of school. Big M started Kindergarten with Mrs. Pearson. Little M became an Orange Tiger at the Lord's Little Army Preschool. Big M rode the bus home for the first time that day...stressed Mama out a little, but everything worked out fine. We've finally got the bus routine down, I think! It was a good day, although sad for Mama. Can't belive my M&M girls are growing up so quickly!!

Heading out the door for school on 8/25/11.

Big M and her friend, Miraya, are both in Mrs. Pearson's class!! Both girls are excited.

Little M, Miraya, and Big M enjoy looking at books on the reading bench in Mrs. Pearson's classroom.

Little M heading into her new Orange Tiger room. She's enjoying her days with Mrs. Melissa and Mrs. Colleen!

Summer Sunflowers

It's hard to believe that the tiny seeds we planted in a cup earlier in the spring have now grown into these huge sunflower plants. This photo was taken of the M&M girls a couple of weeks ago with Big M's friend, Reese. The sunflower plants have now grown to about 6 feet tall. We're waiting on the actual flowers to open up, but it's been amazing seeing their growth.

California Vacation 2011

We just wanted to share a few of our favorite photos or moments from our recent vacation to the Los Angeles area...we had such a great time visiting friends and family. Big M loved the beach, Little M not so much, but it was still a fun vacation anyhow. Hope you enjoy!
