Big M's Sewing

Big M has found that she likes sewing.  She started learning last summer while visiting Mamaw and Papaw.  This summer we decided that it would be fun to sew some birthday gifts for friends.  The simplest thing she has learned to sew at this point is a pillowcase.  And, she does an awesome job at it! We have been finding out what her friends' bedding looks like and then trying to make the pillowcase to coordinate with it. She has also used scrap fabrics to make book marks, and Big M has learned that Mamaw's and my sewing machine have some really neat stitches.  So proud of her and her creativity.  I really cannot wait to see what she sews next!

July 4th

We started our hot and steamy Independence Day with a bike ride in our neighborhood July 4 parade.  We decorated M&M's bikes with flags, patriotic flowers made from cupcake liners, and crepe paper streamers.  They had a lot of fun. After the parade, we joined our neighbors for fun on our street.  The street was blocked off so the kids could have fun on the inflatable water slide, the small pool, and on their bikes/scooters.  The "big adult kids"  had fun too!  There was lots of yummy food to eat and fireworks to watch during the whole weekend.  I think it was a memorable day for all!

Sunset Bible Camp

Big M attended her first overnight church camp last week.  It was the first time she has gone away from home for camp that included sleeping away from home.  Luckily,  Charley attended as a counselor this time, so it made me feel better about her being away from home even if it was for only 2 nights.  Big M had a wonderful time and she loved sharing her experiences canoeing, zip lining, swimming, sleeping on the top bunk in addition to singing and worshiping.  We are so glad she had a fun time with church friends and learning more about being a Christian.

They are ready to load up and go!

Frozen Musical Theatre Camp

M&M had a great time at Frozen Musical Theatre Camp this week!  They practiced each day learning their lines, singing their songs, and practicing the dances.  Little M's group sang "For The First Time In Forever" and Big M's group sang "Love Is An Open Door". It was fun to watch their performance tonight...they both did such a great job.  Next up in July...Mary Poppins Camp!

Summer Fun!

It's been a hot week and what else could we do but go swimming?  This photo from our visit on Wednesday was just too cute not to share.  M&M had a blast with their sweet friends floating on this donut float.  What a fun day...looking forward to many more!

Max

It was a sad day in our house today.  We had to say goodbye to our puggle, Max.  He joined us as a puppy when Big M was only 1 1/2 years old.  Big M and Max were buddies so it has been especially hard on her.  He was a crazy puppy and we'll never forget the gas lines he chewed through or the rose bushes he ate. Unfortunately, he had not been 100% well for the last 2-3 months and it has been hard to watch his health decline.  Here's a few pics for M&M to look back at someday...

Last Day of Kindergarten and Third Grade

It's so hard to believe another school year has gone by.  M&M have completed third grade and kindergarten!  They have grown and changed, but are still our sweet, little girls.  Thank goodness Mamaw and Papaw were here to capture the "last day of school" photo while Charley and I traveled.
