Last Day of Kindergarten and Third Grade

It's so hard to believe another school year has gone by.  M&M have completed third grade and kindergarten!  They have grown and changed, but are still our sweet, little girls.  Thank goodness Mamaw and Papaw were here to capture the "last day of school" photo while Charley and I traveled.

Principal's Honor Roll

We are so proud of Big M.  She made the Principal's Honor Roll with all A's again for this trimester. She is doing so well in third grade and just loves learning.  Hope this continues for years to come!

School Awards

We are so proud of M&M this school year.  Both of the girls received awards at their schools.  Little M received a character award in September.  She was very surprised and it was so neat watching her receive her very first school award.  It's so good to know she is well behaved and respectful at school...

Big M received two awards this month.  She received a character award and she made the Principal's Honor Roll for making all A's.  Woohoo! So proud of her.  Being at this assembly really hit me hard this time...brought tears to my eyes when she ran out to receive her award.  She is such a sweet, smart girl.

Love her smile!

Art Award

We are so proud of Big M.  She submitted a poster for an art contest through Family and Children's Services. Her art teacher,  Ms. Heidi, told us about the theme (Family Stories), and Big M got busy drawing and coloring her poster for the contest.  She won second place in her age group (2nd-3rd graders).  It was a really neat experience, and it was such an honor to be recognized with all of the wonderful artists.

Turkey in Disguise

The third graders at Big M's school were asked to disguise a turkey as a famous Oklahoman.  In addition to the disguise, the students were asked to name three facts about the famous Oklahoman they had chosen.   Big M chose Shannon Miller.  It was lots of fun disguising the turkey, but I think she really enjoyed learning the interesting facts about Shannon's gymnastics success.  You can see her turkey below...

First Day of Kindergarten and Third Grade

It is so hard to believe that the M&M girls are starting another year of school.  They are both at different school buildings this year, but they really seemed to enjoy their first day of school. Little M said her favorite part of the day was "everything".  Big M really thought her teacher, Ms. Garren, was great and she thought it was neat that they went upstairs for music.  I believe both girls will have a great year with their wonderful teachers. I was so happy to see them smiling as they stepped off the school bus today...a  sign of good things ahead!
