Summer is over!

It is unbelievable that summer is coming to an end and school starting tomorrow.  The girls have had a lot of fun with friends this summer...visits to the aquarium, the Tulsa Children's Museum/Discovery Lab, lots of swimming, Tulsa Drillers baseball games, visits to Gilcrease Museum, and many visits to the library and book store, and a week long visit to Mamaw and Papaw's house in Louisiana. They also attend ikamp and musical theatre camps! Summer 2015 has been a lot of fun and we wouldn't have had it any other way. While M&M look forward to school starting, it is sad that summer is over and our girls are getting older!

Mary Poppins Musical Theatre Camp

M&M attended another musical theatre camp this summer.  The theme this week was Mary Poppins.  They had a blast and it was so fun because a good friend went to camp too.  We loved seeing Big M sing "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious".  She was so animated and you could really see that she was having fun.  Little M and her friend sang "Jolly Holiday". She was animated and having fun on stage too. Definitely a fun camp for the M&M girls!

Last Day of Kindergarten and Third Grade

It's so hard to believe another school year has gone by.  M&M have completed third grade and kindergarten!  They have grown and changed, but are still our sweet, little girls.  Thank goodness Mamaw and Papaw were here to capture the "last day of school" photo while Charley and I traveled.

Pumpkin Patch 2014

We enjoyed a fun visit to Carmichael's Pumpkin Patch near Bixby last weekend.  The wind was a little breezy, but it felt like Fall for once!  M&M found their favorite pumpkin during our visit. The girls enjoyed seeing the baby pigs, baby goat, and running through the dark maze too.

First Day of Kindergarten and Third Grade

It is so hard to believe that the M&M girls are starting another year of school.  They are both at different school buildings this year, but they really seemed to enjoy their first day of school. Little M said her favorite part of the day was "everything".  Big M really thought her teacher, Ms. Garren, was great and she thought it was neat that they went upstairs for music.  I believe both girls will have a great year with their wonderful teachers. I was so happy to see them smiling as they stepped off the school bus today...a  sign of good things ahead!

Snickerdoodles and Creativity

M&M have been asking to eat some snickerdoodle cookies, so I decided that it might be fun for them to help make them.  While these aren't my all time favorite cookie, the cookies tasted wonderful and were fun for the girls to make.  They loved rolling the dough into balls and then covering the dough with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.  And, it was fun for them to measure out ingredients and fight for control of the mixer.

M&M with their yummy Snickerdoodles.

Making snickerdoodles wasn't the only activity of the day.  M&M also wanted to spend some time being creative.  Little M painted a princess canvas she has had for a while.  Big M had fun coloring a portrait holder for her room. It was a busy, fun-filled summer day.  So glad we were able to spend time baking and crafting!

Snow Day Sleepover

We were "blessed" with three days out of school in the month of December...perfect timing for a sleepover with one of Big M's friends.  She doesn't get to see this little gal too much since she now attends another school.

Both of the M&M girls enjoyed some playtime and crafts during the sleepover!

Visiting the Pumpkin Patch 2013

We enjoyed our annual visit to the Livesay Pumpkin Patch near Porter this year.  We had a beautiful day and because we were able to go during the middle of the week, we were just about the only ones there!  M&M had so much fun running through the pumpkin patch and selecting the pumpkin that would be their own.  Such a fun family outing!

It was a lot of fun carving pumpkins with Papaw this year.  We all got the biggest laugh from Big M, who said that the pumpkin meat, seeds, etc felt like cat throw-up.  Such an odd thing to say since we have never had a cat and we're quite sure she's never been near cat throw-up. Will give us a chuckle for many years to come, I'm sure!

Summer Zoo Trip

We started summer break off right with a trip to the zoo today.  Two of M&M's friends came along and we had a ton of fun.  It was a little windy, but the temperature was perfect and all of the girls had a great time together.  What a great way to start off our summer!

Easter

I've been a little behind on blogging lately, but wanted to share some Easter pics of M&M.  We were a little less formal this year for our Easter attire, but the girls still had a Springtime look and enjoyed the day hunting eggs, attending church, and spending time with some neighborhood friends.
