Fun on Spring Break!

Even though we started off Spring Break with Little M not feeling so well, once she had recovered, we were off to a great time while visiting Mamaw and Papaw in LA. We visited our favorite park, a children's museum, and "The Jungle Gym". I think both girls had a great time visiting their grandparents. Both girls were also both excited to see Emily, an 8 year old, who lives just a few doors down from Mamaw and Papaw...lots of fun times with her this trip!

Here's a few photos from the children's museum:

Big M driving a police car...hopefully she can pretend now and never have to sit in one for real!

L Little M is trying to take her own photo and then trace around it. Difficult for a 2 year old!

One of the girls' favorite areas: The Kids' Cafe. Little M is ready to enjoy the taco Big M has "cooked" for her.
Big M works the cash register after taking orders and receiving payment.

Little M decides to take Mamaw and Papaw's food orders.

This was neat. They pretended to ride in a kayak, but what they saw in front of them was the following:

The Jungle Gym had inflatables, kiddie rides, ball pits, and slides to enjoy. What a fun time M&M had!

Little M rides a train.

A motorcycle ride with Tom and Jerry.

This little ride was supposed to be like a miniature ferris wheel.

Big M had a lot of fun on this slide---she slid super fast!

The ball pit was a ton of fun for both girls too!

Fun at Birthday Parties

The girls attended a couple of birthday parties during the past two weekends and had a lot of fun. Here's a few photos...

M&M dressed in their princess attire, just before heading to Brooklyn's princess party. Big M was Ariel and Little M asked us to call her "Barbie". They enjoyed the games and especially the castle cake at Brooklyn's party.

Below are photos of the skating party they both attended. Their first time skating...Big M wasn't too fond of regular roller skates, but she did have a great time after putting on the snap-on skates that rolled more slowly. Little M didn't want any skates on, but had a blast holding Big M's hand on the rink and dancing under the lights to the fun music.

Big M did the limbo on roller skates for the first time. She actually made it through 3 or 4 rounds before falling. The girls can't wait to go roller skating again!
Thanks for the invitations to the fun parties!!

Big M Turns Five!!

Another year has passed and Big M has grown and changed. She is now five!! It's hard to believe she'll finish pre-K before long and will be heading off to Kindergarten next year. Each year seems to fly by just a little faster, but one thing is for sure...she's still such a sweetheart and loving daughter.

We had a small party with a few of her school friends at Michael's Arts and Crafts store this year. All of the girls had a fun time painting and decorating a wooden purse-shaped box to store their little treasures in.

Little M received a little help painting her box from Big M's friend, Marin.

On Big M's actual birthday, we took her and a friend ice skating. Neither of the girls had ice skated before. It was slow going at first, but both girls got the hang of it before long and seemed to really enjoy it. It had been a long time since Charley and I had ice skated...it took as a little time to get the hang of it again too!

The birthday celebration weekend was a ton of fun. It's hard to believe our little five year old has grown up. While I miss some of her baby days, she's sure a special girl that's been a blessing to our family. Happy Birthday Big M!

January/Feb. Snow Pics

Here's a couple of pics of M&M during the first snow we had towards the end of January. Neither one of the girls liked the snow too much...just too cold to enjoy it much. Big M did enjoy sledding a little more, but found that once she was wet and cold, it wasn't too much fun anymore. I don't say that I blame them much!

Here pictures of the Snow Blizzard we had on Feb.1. The first photo is of the snow looking out our back door. The second photo was taken from the front door. The snow was definitely blowing in all directions. I can't believe we ended up with 14 inches of it. I think it's going to stick around a while too. We had only 1 day of school this week...cabin fever is setting in!

Cute Pics of M&M

I found a few cute pics of M&M to share. The first is of Little M at her preschool's hat parade. She was the leader of her class and did a great job of following her teacher while wearing her sparkly, purple visor decorated with snowflakes. While she laughs and smiles a lot, it's rare for us to catch her little smile on camera, so that makes this picture that more precious.

We braided Big M's hair all over after bath one night as she requested. When we took out the braids the next morning, she loved the waves they left. Charley caught this cute photo of her. Just love her sweet smile!

Little M Sings her ABCs!!

Little M surprised us recently when she started singing her ABCs. It's difficult to understand her at times, but she's doing a pretty good job. Some of the things she's been saying lately are so cute...can't believe she's growing up so fast! She loves to dress up in a leotard saying, "me ballerina". When she first wakes up of a morning, she's always asking where her big sister is. They are having a fun time together and it's been fun watching them "play" together.

Make sure you turn the blog music player off so you can hear Little M. Hope you enjoy her singing video!

Gingerbread person

Big M was given a gingerbread person to decorate for this month's family project at Country Lane Elementary. She decided to make it a gingerbread "girl". Puffy paint for hair, Froot Loops for eyes, rick-a-rack for a mouth, a marshmallow outlined dress (with sequin buttons, of course), and button shoes. The girl wasn't complete until she had added a bracelet from round stickers and blue puffy paint hair clips (although those are difficult to see). It was fun...now to see what projects are up next!
