The Last Day of School

It's hard to believe another school year has come and gone...Big M will be a Kindergartner and Little M will be turning 3 in the fall. Just looking at the photos below, it's obvious that they have physically changed. I've been amazed at the knowledge that both girls have gained over the last year. I cannot even imagine what the next year or so will be like, but I know one thing...it will be interesting!!

Dance Recital May 2011

We had a fun dance day last Saturday, May 21. Big M had dance recital rehearsal at 9 am at the Performing Arts Center in BA and her recital was at 5 pm that evening. We were proud of Big M...her tap dance to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" was cute and she did a great job on stage. She even remembered to smile a little, which was a little challenging since she was concentrating so hard. A friend of Big M's that also takes dance at Miss Kristy's came over to enjoy pizza and dessert along with our family. We enjoyed everyone's company and had a great end to a busy day. We look forward to next year when both Big M and Little M will be participating in recital. Now only a few days until schools out for summer!!

Smiling and loving the flowers she received after recital.

At recital rehearsal---she wore her sponge rollers to rehearsal so she could have curls for the big performance.

Big M and Mama...love her sweet hugs.

Little M and Papaw watching the lights and dancers.

TLC Spring Program

The annual TLC Spring Music Program was held this last week. It was an emotional day for many of the teachers, parents, and kids. TLC preschool will be closing at the end of the school year and this was the last music program. For the first time, the 1 and 2 year olds were allowed to participate in the program. Little M's class, sang and played musical instruments like drums and bells. Big M's class, along with another 4 year old class and two 3 year old classes, sang about 6 other songs. I've tried to upload the video of the performances, but they are large and it's just not working out. So, here's a few photos of their performances. Not the best photos, but I'm sure you can find M&M in there.

We're sad to see TLC close, and the girls will have fond memories of the special moments they've had there! Thanks Ms. Chelsea, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Rachael, and Ms. Chelsey for a great year!

Easter 2011

We didn't get the beautiful Spring weather we desired for Easter weekend this year, but we still had a good weekend anyway. Here's a couple of pics of the M&M girls in their easter dresses. Little M just loved twirling in her Easter dress...I think she would have slept in it the night before if we'd let her.

We headed over to the neighborhood playground during a break in the rain to hunt the Easter eggs we'd dyed. The girls had a fun time hunting for the eggs and being outside for a while.

The Easter bunny came and brought the girls some fun goodies. They didn't care too much about the candy...they were distracted by the other things in the basket!!

Little M loved her new tutu...perfect for the dance class she'll be starting this summer.

This looks like one of her Dad's dance moves to me!

Love My LadyBug!!

It was fun to watch Little M's class, along with the other TLC classes, march around the hallway to cheerful children's music. Each of the classes had very cute crafts, visors, or shirts to wear in this year's Spring Parade, but I especially liked the Lady bugs and bees. Ooh, so cute!!

Fun on Spring Break!

Even though we started off Spring Break with Little M not feeling so well, once she had recovered, we were off to a great time while visiting Mamaw and Papaw in LA. We visited our favorite park, a children's museum, and "The Jungle Gym". I think both girls had a great time visiting their grandparents. Both girls were also both excited to see Emily, an 8 year old, who lives just a few doors down from Mamaw and Papaw...lots of fun times with her this trip!

Here's a few photos from the children's museum:

Big M driving a police car...hopefully she can pretend now and never have to sit in one for real!

L Little M is trying to take her own photo and then trace around it. Difficult for a 2 year old!

One of the girls' favorite areas: The Kids' Cafe. Little M is ready to enjoy the taco Big M has "cooked" for her.
Big M works the cash register after taking orders and receiving payment.

Little M decides to take Mamaw and Papaw's food orders.

This was neat. They pretended to ride in a kayak, but what they saw in front of them was the following:

The Jungle Gym had inflatables, kiddie rides, ball pits, and slides to enjoy. What a fun time M&M had!

Little M rides a train.

A motorcycle ride with Tom and Jerry.

This little ride was supposed to be like a miniature ferris wheel.

Big M had a lot of fun on this slide---she slid super fast!

The ball pit was a ton of fun for both girls too!

Fun at Birthday Parties

The girls attended a couple of birthday parties during the past two weekends and had a lot of fun. Here's a few photos...

M&M dressed in their princess attire, just before heading to Brooklyn's princess party. Big M was Ariel and Little M asked us to call her "Barbie". They enjoyed the games and especially the castle cake at Brooklyn's party.

Below are photos of the skating party they both attended. Their first time skating...Big M wasn't too fond of regular roller skates, but she did have a great time after putting on the snap-on skates that rolled more slowly. Little M didn't want any skates on, but had a blast holding Big M's hand on the rink and dancing under the lights to the fun music.

Big M did the limbo on roller skates for the first time. She actually made it through 3 or 4 rounds before falling. The girls can't wait to go roller skating again!
Thanks for the invitations to the fun parties!!
